Yet Another Thing They Don't Tell You About Parenthood

I never realized how hard potty training a kid would be. Not to go into too many details, but I've sure spent a lot time hanging out in the bathroom waiting for "it" to happen.

After all sorts of attempts and approaches, we finally pulled out the little DVD player and let Paige sit on the toilet with the thing on her lap. Incredibly sanitary, I know. So she spent an hour an a half watching a movie, and I sat on the tub with the computer on my lap. What a way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Slowly, we're making progress. Fortunately, we've ditched the DVD player for books. However, she loves to read her Dora's Halloween book, which, even when she's not reading it, causes her to lose concentration on the task at hand and stand up and shout "Happy Halloween!" Arrgh.

Hey, think of it as the next generation of toilet reading material. In the years to come, instead of taking a magazine into the restroom, folks will take their media players. You are just training her early for this.

After a sharp reprimanding in the car about my, "when will you guys start a blog" comment, I've been reintroduced to the Manifesto. For some reason I had in mind that this was a website geared towards guys who like cooler music than I listen to. I stand corrected. I'll now be checking in more often to see the updates of your little ones, plus maybe pick up some new, hip play lists as well.
Happy Halloween!

You should reprimand RB right back for not giving me the follow up on the wedding. As for the Manifesto, I agree that it contains entirely too many boring ramblings about music. No wonder it wasn't on your reading list!
